Our History
In 1931, the corner gas station became one of the final buildings added to Forsyth’s historical commercial core- standing beside the newly built Roxy Theatre and at the entrance to an already thriving Main Street. Forsyth had grown where the railroad, the Yellowstone River, eastern Montana agriculture, military activity, and local commerce converged. As automobiles began changing how people traveled across the region, this prominent corner welcomed residents and visitors. The railworkers, ranchers, farmers, service members, were all coming together for fuel, business, entertainment, and connection. Nearly a century later, the building still stands at the gateway to the downtown corridor- part of Forsyth’s historical legacy and it’s continuing revitalization. the image to the right was a postcard from 1931, the year the first gas station was built. The image below is our building after they cloed in the drive through of the service station. The bottom right image documents Forsyth’s Historical district and includes our corner address at 993 Main Street. Please come to visit us! We look forward to welcoming you!
Forsyth making an impact
Proud of our hometown leaders!
Pastor Lee Kisman
Pastor Lee Kisman is the Senior Pastor of Grace Bible Church in Downtown Forsyth. He has been an accomplished carpenter and contractor for many years, building several of his homes from the ground up. Pastor Lee’s service goes far beyond the four walls of Grace church. His family has served for decades in Missions work reaching throughout America and all the way to Guatemala. These days, you can find him serving anyone who could use a helping hand in and around Rosebud County. Including a recent spotting helping a neighbor with a needed roof repair on one of our famous 100-plus-degree Montana summer days. An inspiration and humble servant to all, this man is a true example of walking goodness.
Honor baskets are a small token of our appreciation for the everyday heroes who give so much to so many! We thank you!
Commander Irene Dickerson
We want to congratulate Forsyth’s own Commander Dickerson on her recent appointment as Commander to the District of the State of Montana. Irene’s career began as a nurse, and her hard work and dedication have led to an extensive military career, in addition to her decades of service in our local community. We are grateful to have such a shining example of the very best of the United States military right here in Forsyth. We offer a collective measure of gratitude for all you do and all you serve.

Cabane is a small space solutions company and hosts a Montana small business incubator with a focus on entrepreneurship and supporting the arts.
We would like to give you an opportunity to help support a local artist or entrepreneur.
Sometimes the difference between an idea and a real opportunity is simply the cost of taking the next step. Your donation helps Montana artists, makers, and emerging entrepreneurs with materials, showcase opportunities, display costs, or other practical needs. Gifts go where they can make the greatest difference- removing barriers, helping people reach customers, and giving someone the chance to grow.
Thank you for your kind consideration
